7.19.16  We have not cut the hair on Sophie’s head, if you can believe that.  With time she is learning to relax and so has her hair!  When we first took her out of the shelter, we suspected she may have been mistreated.  But, we think her abuse may have been more extensive than we thought.  She is still very fearful of strangers.  Grooming has been a major challenge, so we have been taking it in very small steps.  She has learned to like baths, but she still has a fear of scissors and especially clippers.  Nail trims are getting a little easier, too.  Day by day she is learning to trust.
